Cup Toss

Gameplay and Safety Instructions

Play responsibly

This game is for entertainment purposes only and is meant to be played responsibly. It is just throwing a ball into a cup, for fun.

The creators of this game are NOT responsible for any poor decision making or actions of you, the player, and fully expect the players to play responsibly.

You are also expected to maintain control of your throwing device like an adult. We are not responsible for any damage to anything that was done during the playing of this game. Again, be responsible.

Five things, and the last two are the whole game. Your phone is the ball — how you hold it is your aim, and how hard you flick it is your power. Watch the TV, not your phone.

1

Scan in to enter the room

The TV shows a QR code. Point your phone's camera at it and tap the link — that puts you in the room. There is no account and nothing to install.

If the camera will not cooperate, the TV also shows a four-letter code you can type instead.

2

Pick where you are standing

In the app: walk left, walk right, or stay straight on. The TV turns the table to match, so you get a different angle on the cups — exactly like stepping around a real table.

On the web controller: tap Left, Center or Right to put yourself where you want to be.

Where you stand sticks for the whole game. It is not something you reset each throw.

3

Hold it like the ball, then tap once

Hold your phone as if it were the ping pong ball, in the position you want to throw from. Then tap the screen. That one tap sets your centre and puts you in aiming mode.

Get into position before you tap — the tap is what tells the game "this is straight ahead". Tap anywhere; the whole screen is the button.

POINT AT
THE TV then tap — that sets your centre
4

Aim by rocking it side to side

To move your aim line left and right, gently rock the phone side to side — like turning a steering wheel a few degrees. Watch the line on the TV, not the phone.

Side to side only. Do not tilt it forward or back, toward or away from your face — that is the throw, and the game reads it as one.

When the line is where you want it, hold it there.

5

Pull back and flick to throw

Pull the phone back and snap it forward, the way you would actually throw a ping pong ball. Watch the ball fly out on the TV.

The harder you flick, the further it goes — just like a real ball. A soft flick drops it short; a flat, hard one becomes a bounce shot.

DO NOT LET GO OF YOUR PHONE. Hold it tight — it should never leave your hand. Make sure you have room to swing your arm, and watch out for people, lights and televisions.
